Kodály Quartett

World-renowned string quartet
Classical Concert

The Kodály Quartet was founded in 1966 at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest and has been named after the significant Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály since 1971.
Its artistic focus is on the authentic interpretation of Hungarian music – particularly the works of Kodály, Bartók, Kurtág, and Ligeti. At the same time, the ensemble dedicates itself with great passion to the classical string quartet repertoire, combining stylistic precision with vibrant expressiveness.
Internationally, the Kodály Quartet has established an excellent reputation. The musicians perform worldwide and regularly collaborate with outstanding soloists. For their exceptional contributions to musical life, they have been honored with the Kossuth Prize, the highest cultural award in Hungary.
